I love to hear the story behind the making of a jeweland if it involves history all the better. Wendy Brandes pulled out all the stops when she told me about her Marie Antoinette Ring. The gems are in the regal color combo of purple and green. The super size is something the designer felt the ill-fated queen would love. And the thorny prongs symbolize the consort's sad situation in the end. All of this back story would mean nothing, or course, if the ring didn't look gorgeous at first glance which it does. It is as glamorous as Versailles' Hall of Mirrors. Making for a very happy ending.
