This is what you call a happy accident. In 1967 when a client brought his wrecked Tank watch to Cartier for repair, Jean-Jacques Cartier, a descendant of the founder of the firm, was inspired by the surreal shape and created the Crash watch. Prized by collectors (and yours truly), Cartier is bringing the beloved design back in a limited quantity for ladies this spring. If people line up at Cartier on the release date in June as they do for new Apple products—and who knows they might—I will be at the head of the pack!
