An accessories director friend of mine noted that Phoebe Philo has a knack for knowing what people need before they themselves do, especially in terms of bags (see: her years at the helm of Chloé). When Philo, now head designer of Céline, debuted accessories at her new employer, editors went crazytown, throwing around words like "fresh" and "modern," as they tend to do when they’re really jazzed about something.
