My fantasy vacation spot has always been Australia. Steven Alan had the same dream. The difference is, he got to go—in the name of research, lucky duck. The result is this canvas and leather travel bag, which Alan created in collaboration with V Australia airlines (it fits in the overhead bins of their planes). Alan pondered exactly what he’d want his ideal carry-on to look like (refining his vision after a visit Down Under), and then made it (one of the benefits of being a designer). This roomy piece has exterior pockets lined in Alan’s signature plaid cotton shirting, an inner pouch for wet items, another zipper compartment for a laptop, and a single shoulder strap that can convert into separate backpack ones.
