Douglas Rosin Modernist Gold Safety Pin Earrings

In my ongoing effort to add a little edge to my jewelry wardrobe, I wanted something with a safety pin—a key accessory for the original punk rockers like Richard Hell and Johnny Rotten. There are lots of earrings around that look like actual safety pins piercing your lobes. As much as I like the modern direction of jewelry inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new exhibition "Punk: Chaos to Couture," the style looks too aggressive, if not painful, for me. These '70s jewels are perfection focusing on the safety pin's spring mechanism. They have a vanguard look without the ouch element.
