The Duke of Verdura is in my pantheon of jewelry design gods. A fantastic artist, the titled Italian painted the sketches for his Renaissance-inspired jewels in a free-flowing style that was magically captured in metal and gems by his craftsmen. The firm executes its pieces with the same spirit to this day. Just look at this ring with diamond polka dots set in chalcedony and wrapped up in gold rope. It is pretty as a picture.
